W Kuala Lumpur Partners Gallery des Artistes For Its Art in Hotel Series

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 NOVEMBER 2022 – W Kuala Lumpur the iconic lifestyle brand bringing the bold to the pulse of Kuala Lumpur has partnered with Gallery des Artistes for a new series of art collaborations working with collective artist Gung Ho to create a curated selection of immersive artwork and creative lifestyle experiences for guests to enjoy within the hotel.

The Gung Ho team, consisting of gallerist and interior designer Edith HO, Malaysian-born artist HONG and internationally renowned British Pop artist Jonny Zerox has worked closely with W Kuala Lumpur since its opening in 2018. This partnership is a longstanding relationship between two brands that will see the artistic thread of the brand continue into the future. The Art in Hotel initiative allows you to journey on a walkabout throughout the beautiful hotel. At the same time, you immerse yourself in the vibrant, colourful, playful and POP world of Gung Ho and Co.

No Bad Day

“The Art in Hotel series displays the works of the artists from Gallery des Artistes as they curated a selection of art specifically for W Kuala Lumpur. We not only provide an exclusive experience for guests to physically discover the vibrant and bold artworks from a unique angle but also bring to life beautiful new artwork through a combination of art and avant-garde mediums,” said Edith Ho, the curator of Gallery des Artists and member of Gung Ho.

“Our guests span the next generation of luxury travelers who embody a mindset that spans age, geography, and interest.” They are the spark that makes it happen. The ones, who never stop exploring, pulled to the energy of people and places. True to themselves and open to everything. They make the world their own and bring the crowd together. That is why we thought that staying true to our brand ethos as being connectors, it is time W Kuala Lumpur thinks outside the box when it comes to hotel artwork,” said Volker Burth, General Manager of W Kuala Lumpur.

With the recent boom in experience design, expectations are higher for brands to create new and noteworthy experiences for guests, and hotels are no exception. For too long, hospitality design has relied on catalogue prints and predictable posters to fill blank walls. This is all changing; we want to elevate the travel experience by reimagining the impact of public artwork in a hotel setting. We curate art that enhances client engagement and highlights diverse artists, encouraging storytelling and discovery through a rich mix of aesthetics hence our collaboration with Gallery des Artists.

W is all about Igniting Curiosity and Expanding Worlds. Our hotel is a place to experience life. We are here to open doors and open minds. With us, there is always more.

Creating aspirational moments that inspire and surprise, the Art in Hotel art experience can elevate a guest or visitor’s sense of style. Well-integrated art enhances the comfort, intimacy of the hotel’s many nooks, and corners, enlivening the space starting with the hotel’s porte-cochere, where guests are dropped off to FLOCK the hotel’s all-day dining. WOOBAR the sass of a speakeasy, YEN offering an imperial ambiance elevated by an avant-garde dining concept, WET® DECK is a stylish lounge that transcends traditional pool deck bar expectations with its harmonious blend of cutting-edge mixology and bold modern design and the spectacular Extreme WOW suite on the 23rd floor.
