Wego Uncovers Idul Fitri Bargain Airfares

Singapore/Jakarta, 7 June, 2017Wego.com, the leading travel search site in the Asia Pacific reveals some exotic, great value Idul Fitri escapes from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

“It is still possible to grab a fantastic travel deal and make the most of an escape this Idul Fitri,” said James Huang, Market Development Manager, Asia.

“We are so lucky living in South East Asia, with a large choice of budget airlines, great connectivity and short flight durations – there are a number of affordable Idul Fitri breaks available to suit any budget, no matter how big or small your family is.”

“Wego’s enormous travel marketplace covers more than 700 travel supply sites which equates to thousands of hotel rates and airfares available online – it is not difficult to find a bargain,” Huang added.

From Indonesia

“This year Kuala Lumpur edges out (traditionally) Singaporea as the most popular choice amongst Indonesians for Idul Fitri travel, and upon checking Wego, plenty of airlines still offer affordable airfares,” said Huang.

“AirAsia for instance today has a fare from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur for as low as Rp. 426,000 departing June, 23,” said Huang.

Kuala Lumpur may be sparking the most interest this year but the Lion City is still an Indonesian favourite.

“Singapore is perfect for celebrating after Ramadan,” said Huang.

“Visit the Grand Sultan Mosque or go shopping for Malay and Middle Eastern goods at Geylang Serai Bazaar. We found an irresistible SilkAir airfare from Jakarta to Singapore on June, 26 for just Rp. 598,000.”

“And there is more – flights to Bangkok Rp. 1,847,000 and to Sydney Rp. 2,578,000, both on June 24,” he added.

From Malaysia

“Malaysians love Australia, and this year the land down under is the most popular Idul Fitri destination on Wego,” said Huang.

“Flights to Perth as low as RM340 on AirAsia X which means an Aussie adventure is within easy reach.”

“Or take a short flight to Hat Yai southern Thailand near the Malaysian border for some great shopping, and wander the Khlong Hae Floating Market. Flights from Kuala Lumpur on June 23 begin at RM171 with Thai AirAsia. Visit friends in Manila for just RM495, or explore cosmopolitan Melbourne in Australia for RM640, both with AirAsia X.”

From Singapore

“Thai Lion Air has flights as low as SGD107 to mystical Yangon in Myanmar,” Huang advised.

“See the ancient Buddhist pagodas and take a side trip to Bagan and experience the spectacle of an early morning hot air balloon ride above the temples.”

“If you’re in need of a reclining beach chair, sun, sea and tropical fruit, we found return flights for July 6 on Jetstar Asia to Phuket for just SGD119. Scoot to Bangkok for SGD112 on June 25, or fly to Tibet with China West Air on June 23 for SGD297 and see what life looks like from the ‘roof of the world’.”

“There’s still loads of deals out there, but Wego displays airfares in real time – which means they can change from one moment to the next – once you find that great airfare, book it, start packing and have an exotic, fabulous Idul Fitri,” Huang said in conclusion.
