KUALA LUMPUR, 27 May 2025 – The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and global technology company Wise have announced a strategic partnership to promote travel to Singapore and increase tourism spending by offering greater value to Malaysian travellers. The partnership marries STB’s expertise in destination marketing with innovative financial solutions to strengthen Singapore’s position as a top travel destination for Malaysians, while offering them a convenient and affordable way to manage their finances during their visits.

Singapore: a favourite destination for Malaysians

Malaysia is one of Singapore’s top tourism source markets. According to Singapore Tourism Board data, Malaysia accounted for 1.19 million visitor arrivals last year – a notable 9% increase compared to 2023.

A recent Tourism Malaysia report identified that Singapore was the third most visited international destination in 2023 by Malaysians, behind Thailand and Indonesia. Singapore also ranked in the top 5 planned holiday destinations in 2024 for Malaysians, solidifying its position as a popular travel choice.

Wise, meanwhile, continues to grow in the region, with Malaysia being its fastest-growing market in Asia Pacific, underscoring the demand for transparent, cross-border financial solutions.
