WorldVentures Moves Ahead With Plans To Boost Malaysian Tourism
Three-year full service license renewed for the award-winning travel club
21 March 2017 — WorldVentures, the award-winning international lifestyle and travel membership company, unveiled new plans for 2017 and beyond after being granted a three-year license renewal by the Malaysian Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism. In conjunction with the renewed licence, the company is expanding its offerings in Malaysia.
As part of the company’s plans for the immediate future, WorldVentures aims to increase the number of DreamTrips into Malaysia.
“We intend to organise at least 150 DreamTrips to Malaysia by the end of 2017, which is good news for the local hospitality industry as we expect many more international members to visit Malaysia in the coming years. WorldVentures organised more than 80 DreamTrips to Malaysia in 2016 alone and 99 percent of the travellers were from overseas,” explained Michael Ang, General Manager of WorldVentures Malaysia.
Local food and beverage businesses will also benefit from WorldVentures’ DreamTrips Local programme. DreamTrips Local allows members to collect DreamTrips Points while enjoying products and services from partnering food and beverage, wellness and entertainment outlets. Since its introduction, more than 350 Malaysian vendors, mainly in the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru, have chosen to work with WorldVentures under this programme.
Among the merchants already signed on are restaurant and café chains such as Coffea Coffee and Brotzeit, as well as novelty dining establishments including The Whisky Bar and Dining In The Dark. The list of participating merchants is growing exponentially. WorldVentures is one of the world’s most successful travel clubs, with more than half a million members worldwide. The club was recently awarded the 2016 World Travel Awards for ‘World’s Leading Travel Club’ and ‘Asia’s Leading Travel Club’.
