In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014 [icon style=”icon-external-link-sign”], the Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2014 Secretariat, together with Gaya Travel Magazine, organised a special awareness and promotion program on VMY 2014 called Celebrating 1Malaysia Truly Asia (C1MTA), which involves bringing selected local and international media representatives and travel agents to familiarise with particular destinations and tourism products. The programme kick-started with the trip to the wondrous state of Perak, where delegates were transported to the state’s illustrious tin mining past and learned about Perak’s royalty, including visiting a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The participants also assisted in spreading the word about the VMY 2014 campaign by distributing VMY’s merchandises such as caps, pens and brochures to the public at the Ipoh Railway Station, Polo Ground and also Tapah R&R along the North-South Highway. The VMY 2014 campaign also encourages Malaysians to become good hosts, besides inviting them to travel and explore more of their own country since there are still so many hidden gems that are yet to be uncovered.
