KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia– The 473-room luxury hotel, InterContinental® Kuala Lumpur has recently received another accolade, the Dato’ Lau Foo Sun Excellence in Dining Award 2015/2016. The win was for the Chaine des Rotisseurs Baliage Kuala Lumpur Dinner held on March, a wine pairing event exclusively concocted by eight talented chefs.
The prestigious award reaffirms the hotel brand’s service and product excellence that continues to draw acclaim from local and international visitors as a world-class business and leisure destinations, serving the finest culinary. Led by Executive Sous Chef, Abdul Razak, the guests were served with the amuse-bouche of Asian inspired dishes featuring fresh ingredients including air-flown seafood, complemented with creative and vibrant condiments. Leveraging the expertise of the hotel’s certified sommeliers, each dish on the menu was conceived with a particular wine in mind; each wine defined the dish, and vice versa.

The highlight of the six-course menu was an award-winning dish; steamed Patagonian tooth fish, Chinese herb crust, braised five head abalone carpaccio, yellow capsicum puree and seasonal greens, paired with Bin 311 Chardonnay to enhance the flavour of the dish. Created by Executive Chinese Chef Wong Lian You, the dish won the Special Gold Award during the China International Top Chefs Invitational Competition, 2016 by SIAL CHINA.

The ‘Dato Lau Foo Sun Excellence in Dining Award’ is named after the founder Bailli Delegue (President) of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Malaysia Chapter, the late Dato Lau Foo Sun. Judging (for the award) is based on several criteria; from pre-dinner experience, menu, wine and food presentation to service, ambience and venue setting, and overall dining experience.
