Lighting Up For The Festives
KUALA LUMPUR, 28 October 2016 – Getting in the mood for Deepavali, eight teams gathered at Lost World Of Tambun, unleashing their creativity in creating their very own beautiful and stunning Rangoli.
Rangoli, usually crafted as a main part of decorations especially during Deepavali, are intricately created using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. This year, Lost World Of Tambun – a self-contained wonderland cocooned by lush tropical jungle, natural hot springs and breath-taking limestone features of 400 million years of age filled with history, tranquility and serenity, would boast the harmonious and artistic portrayal its colors from the participants.
“Deepavali is one of the most colorful, sacred and loveliest festivals of the Hindus. Beyond that, it is also a truly Malaysian festival and it is an honour to be able to host this contest at Lost World Of Tambun. Our hope is to share the uniqueness of this festival with our guests as well as providing a platform for the preservation of traditional arts as well as be a place for families and friends to have a fun-filled day at Lost World Of Tambun,” said Calvin Ho, Senior General Manager of Sunway Theme Parks.
“I have been making Rangoli for weddings, special functions and other events for the past 15 years. I enjoy creating Rangoli because it brings good luck and blessing to people”, said Mohan a/l Maruthamutu, who single handedly assembled his Rangoli and won first place in this contest. “I would also like to say thank you to Lost World Of Tambun for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this meaningful contest”, he added.

The three teams with the best Rangoli design won a holiday package at Lost World Of Tambun which includes a relaxing and pampering session at the natural Hot Springs & Spas. Besides that, they experienced all seven amazing rides for a boost of adrenaline with their family and friends.
After a long day of adventure, the winners enjoyed a fulfilling rest at Lost World Hotel before waking up refreshed with the park’s crisp fresh air and a spectacular view of lush hills encapsulated with morning mist. After all, festivals are meant to spend with your loved ones at a perfect family destination.
