What makes this train special is the chance for passengers to ride on the conventional train using a diesel locomotive that is no longer used for the Northern Peninsular Malaysia routes. The train is also equipped with the Chillax coach as well as the Cafe coach, on top of the passenger coaches. There are 36 seats designated for first class at the price of MYR74 per person per way, while the remaining 240 seats are available in the second class at MYR51 per person per way.

KTMB’s introduction of this excursion train is to encourage more domestic and international tourists to use the rail as the primary mode of transport when discovering Malaysia since it aims to increase rail ridership up to 5% or 1.25 million rides in a year after the campaign launch.

The public can purchase the KTMB train tickets through KTMB Mobile (KITS), KTMB website (www.ktmb.com.my), or ticket machine kiosks.
