PULAU PERHENTIAN, 30 May 2024 – In a landmark event for Malaysia’s tourism industry, His Royal Highness Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, officially inaugurated the Marriott Resort Perhentian, the first 5-star international resort on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the region’s hospitality sector.
Accompanied by the Sultanah of Terengganu, Sultanah Nur Zahirah, and YAM Tengku Puteri Daulath Raja Dato Seri Fatimatuz Zahra’, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin graced the grand opening of the resort.
The event also saw the presence of the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, and other distinguished guests, including state officials and industry leaders.
