‘Enjoy Kajang’ Campaign to Boost Tourism Ahead of Visit Selangor Year 2025
KUALA LUMPUR, February 22, 2025 – Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has become the first local authority to promote Visit Selangor Year 2025 (TMS 2025) outside the state, with the launch of its ‘Enjoy Kajang’ initiative at KL Sentral.
KL Sentral was chosen as the launch venue due to its status as a major transportation hub, connecting various public transit systems such as the MRT, KTM, ERL, Rapid KL, Monorail, and ETS, making Kajang more accessible to both local and international tourists.
Introducing ‘Enjoy Kajang’
The ‘Enjoy Kajang’ brand aims to highlight Kajang’s tourism offerings, including eco-tourism, gastronomy, theme parks, arts, culture, and heritage. The initiative also features the Gombak-Hulu Langat Geopark, the first geopark in Selangor, which falls within the MPKj jurisdiction.
Under the theme ‘Surprising Selangor’ or ‘Selangor Kan Ada!’, the campaign is part of Tourism Selangor’s broader efforts to showcase the state’s attractions to domestic and international visitors.
Strategic Collaborations to Drive Tourism Growth
To strengthen the tourism sector, the Selangor state government has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with four major companies—Sony Malaysia, Batik Air, GL Play by Gamuda, and Alpha IVF & Women Specialist. This partnership underscores their commitment to supporting the state’s tourism development.
The state government is targeting RM11.7 billion in tourism revenue throughout TMS 2025, with local authorities playing a crucial role in promotional efforts to achieve this goal.
Enhancing Public Transport for Tourism
As part of efforts to make public transport the preferred choice for travellers, Prasarana has pledged its support for the campaign by promoting MyTourist Pass and MyCity Pass. These passes allow unlimited travel on LRT, MRT, BRT, Monorail, and Rapid KL buses for either one or three days, depending on the type of pass purchased.
The Selangor government has called on government agencies, private sector players, NGOs, and tourism industry stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring the success of TMS 2025, while also preparing for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
