By spearheading this campaign, Petrosains is leveraging its platform to foster greater environmental awareness and public engagement on e-waste management. As the social impact arm of PETRONAS in democratising STEM education, Petrosains continues to champion meaningful change through community-centric programmes that inspire action and empower Malaysians to take part in building a more sustainable future.

This initiative seeks to address the growing environmental concerns surrounding electronic waste, which, according to the Department of Environment (DoE), it is estimated that 24.5 million units of electronic waste will be discarded this year alone.

This joint effort aims to cultivate a sustainable and responsible e-waste management culture by engaging the public through collaborative initiatives, rewards-based collection drives, and awareness programmes that promote environmental stewardship and reduce the disposal of electronic waste to landfill.

Chief Executive Officer of Petrosains, Ezarisma Azni Mohamad said, “At Petrosains, our mission is rooted in powering change, not just through the exploration of science, technology, and innovation, but through meaningful actions that inspire real-world impact. By empowering communities with knowledge and providing accessible platforms for engagement, we seek to transform awareness into tangible action.”

This e-waste initiative, in collaboration with Petrosains and other valued partners, is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental stewardship. Alhusna Ab Ghani, Senior Manager of PETRONAS Digital Sdn Bhd said, “At PETRONAS Digital Infra Services, our mission is aimed at promoting responsibility, enhancing energy efficiency, and fostering a culture of sustainability within the organization. We provide objective information, create networks between the public and private sectors, and offer technical assistance in aligned to support sustainability within the community.”

“This campaign with Petrosains at Suria KLCC brings the mission of e-waste recycling right into the heart of Malaysia’s most iconic landmark.
