Compared to other parts of Selangor, Hulu Langat is rich in natural settings and getaway spots so here is a 1-day itinerary in Hulu Langat for you to plan your next trip after MCO is lifted!

Due to the many villages that can be found in Hulu Langat, this district tends to feel somewhat bucolic and rural – but well-populated – compared to other parts of Selangor, which is Malaysia’s most developed state. Being the fifth-largest district, Hulu Langat is rich in natural settings and getaway spots. The following is the proposed one-day itinerary in Hulu Langat for you to consider once the Movement Control Order (MCO) is lifted!

1. Breakfast at Lontong King

Kick-start the day by enjoying breakfast at one of the famous eateries in Hulu Langat: Lontong King. Located in Taman Sri Nanding, the food options are diverse, likened to a hotel buffet spread. Order any of the establishment’s selection of famous lontong such as Lontong Special, Lontong Biasa and Lontong Goreng, all freshly made! Lontong King also serves western cuisine for breakfast.

2. Enjoy ATV Ride at Semenyih Eco Venture Resort & Recreation

Calling all fans of extreme activities! Enjoy riding the All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) into the jungle at Semenyih Eco Venture Resort & Recreation, which offers various types of tracks such as mini, forest, and river, as well as rugged forest track for a six-kilometre ATV ride. The choice is entirely up to you!

While you are still at Semenyih Eco Venture Resort & Recreation, don’t miss the chance to paddle down the river to take in the surrounding wilderness. Worry not; you are provided with safety equipment and briefing prior to kayaking.

Paintball is an exciting game where you are supplied with a ‘marker’ and ‘pallet’ to ‘shoot’ other players. The game has no specific rule but it is important for you to have your own tactical strategy with the objective of eliminating other players by shooting pallets (which are actually gelatine capsules filled with coloured liquid) at them using your paintball gun or ‘marker’. It is a heart-racing and fun-filled game that you must try at least once!

5. Lunch at Itik Salai Masthar

If you are someone who loves smoked meat, be sure to stop by at Itik Salai Masthar to savour its famous smoked duck! This establishment also serves its signature gulai masak lemak menu to be eaten with rice and super spicy sambal one the side. It is a great restaurant serving authentic local food which is definitely worth a try!

6. Experience intense outdoor activities at Skytrex Sungai Congkak

Skytrex Sungai Chongkak offers thrilling flying fox experience with its longest zipline in Malaysia.  At 110 metres long, you can ‘glide’ amidst lush greenery. Skytrex Sungai Congkak offers three packages with different levels of difficulty: River Thrill, Rapid Extreme and Double Dare, whereby each of these packages consists of 25 different obstacles. So, you can choose the package that suits your needs and courage!

7. Teatime at D’Pallet Place

D’Pallet Place is an ideal teatime stopover spot for to enjoy light snacks. Situated at Batu 9 (9th Mile) in Cheras, D’Pallet Place has many stalls offering various comestibles. Spend small and eat big at the open-air area. Among the popular choices here are Grilled Chicken, Sotong Gunting, Cendol, Chili Crab, Gearbox Soup and more!

8. Visit the Ostrich Wonderland Semenyih

Being around 15 minutes’ drive from Semenyih town, Ostrich Wonderland Semenyah, an educational place began operating in 2000, allowing the opportunity for travelers to witness ostriches reared in a large pen and learn about the growth process of ostriches. There are other types of poultry too such as hens, roosters and peacocks that travelers can feed; you could even ride an ostrich if you are daring enough!

9.Hiking at Broga Hill

A trip to Hulu Langat will not be complete if you do not breathe in fresh air and take in the gorgeous aerial views of the countryside on top of Broga Hill, which is a popular place for hiking due to its relatively easy trek. Best to be here in the mornings and late afternoons.

10. Dinner at Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri

Be sure to stop by and wolf down on one of Hulu Langat’s icons: Sate Kajang. Definitely the best way to end your one-day trip around Hulu Langat, the popularity of Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri is undeniable, with its chunky satay (grilled marinated skewered meat) to be dipped in peanut sauce when eating with nasi himpit (compacted rice) and condiments like cucumber and red onion on the side. The types of meat turned into satays are chicken, beef, lamb, fish, and rabbit, including beef tripe and liver.

So, make your one-day trip to Hulu Langat great by visiting the above recommendations once the MCO has been lifted in Malaysia!
