A Pink-tastic Afternoon Tea at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur in Conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As someone with a penchant for both delicious treats and a good cause, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur’s “Brews of Hope: Pink Afternoon Tea” had us intrigued. Held at their elegant Latitude 03 lounge, this afternoon tea goes beyond your typical finger food affair. It’s a delightful celebration of International Coffee Day intertwined with raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Chef Orange has curated a menu that’s not only delectable but visually stunning. A vibrant theme of pink hues permeates the entire spread. The Smoked Salmon Mousse Tart with Salmon Roe is a textural delight, with the creamy mousse contrasting beautifully with the pops of salmon roe. But the true showstopper of this afternoon tea is the Pink Ribbon Daisy illy Coffee Cupcake. It’s a whimsical and fitting tribute to the cause, bursting with coffee flavour and adorned with a delicate pink daisy.

The savoury options are equally impressive. Our personal favourite was the Braised Plant-Based Balls in Pink Makhani Sauce. These vegetarian delights were bursting with aromatic spices and surprisingly satisfying. For a refreshing counterpoint, the Raspberry + Lime Mousse offered a perfect balance of sweet and tart, with a luxuriously smooth texture.

For scones lovers, the outlet’s Gluten-Free Raspberry Scone is a must-try!  Dense yet fluffy, they paired beautifully with the raspberry jam and the illy coffee chantilly cream. The kick of coffee in the cream was a delightful surprise.

What truly elevates this afternoon tea is Le Méridien’s commitment to a good cause. The experience includes complimentary health & wellness screenings, including a breast cancer ultrasound and consultations with experts.  This, along with the option for a mammogram at a discounted rate.

At MYR 130 per person or MYR 240 for two, the “Brews of Hope” afternoon tea is a steal. You get delicious food, a luxurious setting, and a chance to learn about your health.  Reservations can be easily made via their website or by calling the hotel, ensuring a smooth booking experience.
