Cottle Goes Full Throttle with Its Newly Renovated Roastery

PETALING JAYA, 6 February 2023: After eight years since opening its first site in Malaysia, speciality coffee roaster, Cottle Coffee opens its newly renovated Sunway Damansara location to house its expanded roastery, café and barista training academy.

The growing demand for high-quality coffee beans across Malaysia and Southeast Asia prompted the Melbourne-founded company to increase its roasting capacity from three tonnes to six tonnes of coffee – which makes approximately 180,000 of coffee!

At the Grand Opening, owner Richard Cottle said, “Over the years, Malaysians have been more adventurous with their coffee drinking, especially exploring different types of single origins.”

With a focus on quality, a purpose-built temperature-controlled room is constructed to store and maintain the optimum grade of freshness of its green beans supply.

“We want to continue to grow and evolve with our customers. The updated roastery will increase our capacity to roast more so can continue to supply the highest-grade coffee beans to cafes across the region,” Mr Cottle added.

In the roastery, a new 30kg OTesla roaster is installed addition to the existing specialty 5kg Roast Max to support the increase in orders and will have the ability to take on more orders.

The site is also home to a café and the Cottle Coffee Academy offering beginner to advanced barista training.

To celebrate the Grand Opening, Cottle Coffee hosted a Latte Art competition attracting more than 40 well known baristas and coffee enthusiasts from across Malaysia battling to take the top cash prize of RM1,888.
