Live Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur

A Joyous Moment to Kick-Start an Early Christmas and New Year Celebration with special The Smurfs appearance from Movie Animation Park Studios

Kuala Lumpur – Admire the live Christmas tree with blue ornaments and twinkling lights, which stands tall in Dorsett Kuala Lumpur over the festive season to signal the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year.

This year’s lighting of the tree ceremony takes place at 7.00pm on 6 December 2017, illuminating the nine-foot live tree in strings of bright lightbulbs by Adele Ang, General Manager of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur. In conjunction with this holiday season, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur is also organising a fund-raising initiative to support two selected charity beneficiaries namely Children’s Wish Society and Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak Kanak Cacat Klang. A series of collectibles comprising The Smurfs plush toys featuring Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy Smurf, Hefty Smurf and Footballer Smurf – supported by Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) as the official Animation Theme Park – and special festive Dorsett Bear Knapsack Sets are available at RM100 nett each for hotel guests, corporate clients and friends to purchase for a good cause.

“We have been supportive towards the CSR initiatives driven by Dorsett Hospitality International in giving back to the society. By purchasing one or more of the collectibles at RM100 nett each, you’ll be supporting all of the orphans and kids from two of our selected charity beneficiaries. This year, we hope to give more to the needy and children with the support of MAPS. Every action counts and we will definitely bring joy to the less fortunate,” said Adele Ang.

Also present at the event is Mr Jeffrey Hanafiah, Chief Marketing Officer of MAPS. “As the official animation theme park of this CSR initiative, we are glad that MAPS has brought greater festive merriments to the celebration with the appearance of our mascot, Papa Smurf and Smurfette. This effort continues further with hopes for MAPS to reach out to more children in future,” said Jeffrey.
