Malaysia Airlines and MasterCard recently treated top spenders for their continuous support with a trip to Langkawi Island with the theme “A Priceless Journey to The Island of Sun, Sea and Sand”. It was held for two days and one night at the exclusive property, The Danna Langkawi.
Thirty top spenders were invited to participate in this rewarding trip, selected based on the highest spend on Malaysia Airlines flight tickets using their best credit card, MasterCard .The guests started off their journey from KLIA on Malaysia Airlines, enjoying the national carrier’s award-winning Malaysian Hospitality services. Upon arrival at Langkawi airport, they were greeted with flower garlands, followed by a warm welcome reception at The Danna Langkawi, complete with refreshments and cultural troupe performance. They were later invited to lunch at the Cliff Restaurant, facing the clear blue waters of the Andaman Sea.
On the hospitality agenda was a visit to one of Langkawi’s major attractions, the Panorama Langkawi experience, comprising the cable car ride that aerially linked Teluk Burau to the peak of Gunung Mat Chinchang, where the Sky Bridge is located. There, the winners enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of Langkawi and its lush tropical vegetation. The highlight of the evening began when all participants attended the dinner at the resort’s beachfront. The dinner kicked off with a contemporary performance by a pair of synchronised swimmers in the hotel’s swimming pool. This unique performance earned big applause from the audience. The guests were then entertained by Joanne Ng, a local band and Joanne Yeoh, the renowned Malaysian violinist.
During the dinner, Malaysia Airlines’ Regional Senior Vice President Sales (Malaysia), Azman Ahmad said, “Throughout the last five years, we have been working closely with MasterCard to serve the community, promote business and tourism, providing excellent connectivity with our flavour of Malaysian Hospitality. This would be one of the most amazing trips that I have ever had. It made us feel so special.”At the end of the night, the top spenders were invited to sit on the beach around a bonfire over shisha and refreshing drinks. This was followed by a special fireworks performance lighting up the starry sky as a perfect end to the night. The entourage returned the next afternoon with fond memories of the truly rewarding and memorable experience by Malaysia Airlines and MasterCard.
Malaysia Airlines and MasterCard have jointly organised reward programmes for their top spenders for the past two years. The event hosted in 2010 was called the Unforgettable Arabian Night, which involved flying the top spenders to Pulai Springs, Johor whilst enjoying Malaysia’s first stand-up comedy performance in the air.
