The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa Supports Earth Hour
LANGKAWI, 16 March 2022 – The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa will take part in Earth Hour, joining millions of others around the globe in supporting the worldwide initiative for energy conservation organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
On Saturday, 26 March 2022, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm (Malaysia time), the resort will dim and turn off all non-essential lights in public areas, restaurants and the resort’s exteriors. Guests are also encouraged to turn off or dim their room lights to support this cause.
In addition, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa will celebrate this special global day and raise environmental awareness through a host of activities for its guests. The resort will be organizing a health and environment-friendly activity for fitness and meditation enthusiasts with a yoga session under the stars from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Led by a yoga expert, this 60 minutes experience allows guests to embrace the spirit of wellness in the relaxing setting of the resort under the stars overlooking the magnificent views of the Andaman Sea.
During the evening, there will also be a special BBQ buffet by the pool with some of the menu featuring sustainable cuisine and locally sourced products, and only available on the evening of 26 March 2022. To add more excitement to the occasion, the surrounding area of the pool will be illuminated with candles, while candles in the resort’s lobby will be arranged to form the Earth Hour signage in support of Earth Hour.
“Embracing Earth Hour has become the resort’s tradition, which signifies our support in protecting the planet, and our commitment to promoting a healthier lifestyle. It also shows our commitment in embracing the brand’s six pillars of well-beings: Feel Well, Work Well, Move Well, Eat Well, Sleep Well and Play Well,” says the Director of Operation of The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, Shanmugam Thangavelu.
