The Eagle Soars in Arthurs Seat
The long-awaited grand opening of the new $20 million Arthurs Seat Eagle tourism cable car ride takes place on 3 December, offering the Mornington Peninsula’s 15.7 million annual visitors a soaring new tourism treat.
Rising above the Mornington Peninsula, Arthurs Seat is the most familiar of all Port Phillip Bay landscape features. Its 314-metre summit gives spectacular views of the bay and Port Phillip Heads. On a clear day the view extends as far as the city skyline, the You Yangs and Mount Macedon.
Once only reachable on foot or by car, now you can soar through the sky on the cable cars which received a $20 million investment. Arthurs Seat State Park is located 60km south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula.

Eagle CEO Hans Brugman, said, “We are thrilled to be taking this next step with our Grand Opening, and we are excited that guests from throughout the region and all over the world will get to experience the excitement and adventure of soaring in our Eagles.
“This is the state’s only gondola ride, and it will be a tourism crown jewel, not just for the Peninsula, but for Victoria as a whole,” Mr Brugman continued.
The brand-new Arthurs Seat Eagle is a fun experience that has focussed on accessibility, with the stations, gondolas and platforms designed to allow people with a wide range of abilities the opportunity to enjoy the attraction.
With the highest tower standing over 19 metres, this high-flying Eagle is set to soar over Arthurs Seat State Park, taking in a bird’s-eye view of the bay and the peninsula, across to the city and further afield.
