Indonesia‘s Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, is organizing the Indonesia Street Bukit Bintang Fiesta at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from 18 until 21 May 2017 with the theme “Explore Exotic Indonesia“.
During the event, the public will be entertained with Indonesian cultural performances like dance, music, carnival show, DJ, batik and weaving workshop, a fashion show from renowned Indonesian designers, and interactive programs like henna and face painting. There will also be booths featuring products like food, fashion, and cosmetics by Indonesian small and medium enterprises. At the height of the festival, international artiste Cakra Khan will perform on 20 May 2017.
Indonesia Street Bukit Bintang Fiesta 2017 is expected to introduce more Indonesian cultures and natural beauty to the Malaysian public and foreign visitors who visit Bukit Bintang. As fellow ASEAN members who are located side by side, Indonesia and Malaysia uphold the spirit of ASEAN unity and cross-sell each other’s destination towards promoting ASEAN as a single destination.
According to the Director of Promotion for South East Asia Ibu Rizki Handayani Mustafa, the staging of Indonesia Street in Bukit Bintang is an exciting and effective way to promote Indonesia to the Malaysian public, besides strengthening the bond between the citizens from both countries. Malaysia is one of the top five source markets for Indonesia, thus the Ministry of Tourism Indonesia targets to receive 1,772,000 tourist arrivals from Malaysia in 2017.
In addition to the upcoming Indonesia Street Bukit Bintang Fiesta, the Ministry of Tourism Indonesia also participates in the Malaysian International Dive Expo at Putra World Trade Centre from 12 until 14 May 2017.
