ISETAN The Japan Store launches Shinkansen Exhibition,
Kuala Lumpur, 16 Feb 2017– The ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan together with Isetan The Japan Store today launched an exhibition on the Japanese Shinkansen called ‘Project Shinkansen’ at Lot 10 Shopping Centre in Bukit Bintang from today until 9 March 2017 at Level 1, Isetan The Japan Store.

‘Project Shinkansen‘ exhibition is staged in conjunction with the opening of the tendering process on the high-speed rail connecting Malaysia and Singapore this year, with the intention to create awareness towards the exciting Japanese high speed rails, popularly known as bullet trains or shinkansen, including sharing the merits and insights on developing a high speed rail project.

Through ‘Project Shinkansen‘, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia hope to deepen the understanding amongst Malaysians on how the Japanese Shinkansen can contribute to the development of Malaysia and improve the people’s lives, especially when the Japanese Shinkansen service records the average delay of only one minute in a year.
The exhibition features a train diorama- touted as one of the biggest in Asia and required 48 straight hours to put together by teams from Hong Kong and Singapore- that expresses the charm of the highly-advanced shinkansen and the uniqueness of the Japanese railway system. The exhibition also highlights internationally acclaimed safety features of the shinkansen for Malaysians to learn and expect from the high speed rail to be built between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Besides the diorama, the exhibition provides first-hand view of a specially designed shinkansen miniature, including the sale of limited door giffts such as the shinkansen Lunch Box and especially designed Tote Bags.

The location of the exhibition, ISETAN The Japan Store. offers quintessentially authentic Japanese products and experience to the Malaysian audience through forward-thinking retail.
