Ipoh 13 March 2024 – The popularity of Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah (BSAS) has boosted its name as a popular destination, especially on every weekday. In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) has opened a business space to 100 traders who serve various types of cakes, side dishes and drinks as a choice of food for breaking the fast. The bazaar operates from 3.00 pm to 11.00 pm every day from 12 March to 9 April 2024.
According to Nurdita Fadzlinda, Deputy Chief Executive (Corporate Relations), “Last year, the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) appointed an event management company to manage the Ramadan bazaar and managed to attract 50,000 visitors. Based on last year’s success, this year it is fully organized by PKNPk through the Assets and Administration Division. PKNPk has made several improvements to the facilities to ensure comfort for visitors at BSAS. We also ensure that the cleanliness of the food is prioritized and the selection of traders is also given close attention so that the variety and quality of the food is guaranteed.”
“We provide a wider space to traders with a size of 10 feet x 20 feet with a rental rate between RM1500 to RM2500. This initiative is in line with the aspirations of the State Government through Prosperous Perak 2030 to provide opportunities and encouragement to small and medium entrepreneurs to find sources of income by carrying out various business activities. The layout of the bazaar this year is also more comfortable for visitors, especially the wider footpath. PKNPk also ensures sufficient parking facilities for the public by providing additional parking located next to Menara A PKNPk and in the Malay Traditional House (RTM) area. For visitors who park at BSAS, a charge of RM1 is applied on weekdays and RM2 on weekends.
PKNPk always ensures that the cleanliness aspects of the Ramadan bazaar site are in good and perfect condition at all times. Our party has appointed a contractor company to handle cleaning and waste management work throughout the Ramadan bazaar. A total of 20 additional bins are placed in the visitor focus area, especially in the picnic area in the middle of the circle. Adequate toilet facilities and a comfortable surau are also available there. Surau for men and women equipped with places to take ablution can accommodate around 30 people at a time”, he added.
Touching on the uniqueness of the BSAS Ramadan Bazaar, Nurdita said, “This year BSAS stole the spotlight as the longest Ramadan bazaar in Perak which is 500 meters long. Interesting menus available here such as Royal Popiah Kuala Kangsar, Sarbat Watermelon, Las Vegas Sprout Chicken Rice, Sloopyan Hot Dog, Kamiez Fried Chicken, Kedah Soup Vermicelli, Vanggey Rice are among the popular dishes among buyers.
BSAS is also the location of choice for the picnic-style iftar trend among the public every year. In fact, this trend of breaking fast has become viral in the past year. It is our hope to organize a visitor-friendly and largest Ramadan bazaar in Perak one day and always ensure Sultan Azlan Shah Circle is more comfortable for visitors.”
Meanwhile, also available at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah are activities and games such as paddlers , go-karts and soopa doopa that will operate as usual throughout the month of Ramadan. For coffee lovers, Bean Here Coffee – a locally produced coffee brand under the PKNPk group is also operating at BSAS throughout the month of Ramadan.
