Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur Makes Its Malaysian Debut with a New Expression of Luxury
KUALA LUMPUR, 30 October 2026 — Hilton has unveiled Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, marking the luxury hospitality brand’s debut in Malaysia with an all-suite urban retreat in the capital’s prestigious Golden Triangle district.
Featuring 268 suites ranging from 80 to 745 square metres, the hotel combines the privacy and comfort of residential-style living with Waldorf Astoria’s signature hospitality. Its design brings together contemporary sophistication, Malaysian craftsmanship and an art collection inspired by the country’s cultural heritage.
Located in the Bukit Bintang Golden Triangle, the hotel also aims to establish itself as a social destination for dining, gatherings, festive celebrations and milestone occasions.
Alan Watts, president of Hilton Asia Pacific, said the Kuala Lumpur property carries forward Waldorf Astoria’s legacy of creating distinguished addresses around the world, while introducing a distinctive residential-style experience to the city.
Candice D’Cruz, vice president of Hilton Luxury Brands, Asia Pacific, added that the hotel’s identity reflects a blend of Malaysian artistry, craftsmanship, expansive living spaces and personalised service.
A Living Legacy Reimagined for Modern Kuala Lumpur
One of the hotel’s signature features is its interpretation of the iconic Waldorf Astoria clock, inspired by the geometry of historic Islamic astrolabes from the collection of the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
Crafted from bronze and illuminated glass with subtle Art Deco influences, the sculptural timepiece stands at the entrance to Peacock Alley. It serves as a focal point within the hotel’s signature social space, reflecting the brand’s tradition of inviting guests to “Meet Me at the Clock”.
Peacock Alley features soaring proportions, stone-clad columns and Songket-inspired textiles, creating an elegant setting that transitions from a relaxed daytime lounge into a sophisticated evening destination.
The hotel’s art collection, curated in collaboration with the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, further connects its international identity with local heritage. Among the featured works is a monumental 19th-century painting of Qajar princes in the Grand Lobby, alongside pieces by celebrated Malaysian artists displayed throughout the property.
Refined All-Suite Living
Designed by Deboss Collective, the hotel’s 268 suites combine natural stone, warm timber, woven textiles and handcrafted finishes to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Bespoke joinery and decorative details inspired by traditional Malay marquetry add a subtle reference to Malaysia’s design heritage.
Accommodation ranges from 80-square-metre one-bedroom suites to the expansive 745-square-metre Waldorf Astoria Suite. Each features thoughtfully planned living and resting areas, complemented by floor-to-ceiling views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
With longer stays and multigenerational travel in mind, the all-suite concept offers guests greater privacy, space and residential comfort in the heart of the city.
