Concorde Lights up for the Mid-Autumn Feset
Kuala Lumpur – October 1, 2012 – Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur organised a simple yet meaningful mid-autumn festival for its supportive clients at the hotel’s pool and Spices Restaurant on Friday evening, September 28.
The evening started with Concorde team clad in pink, red Chinese attire welcoming guests to the pool which had been decorated with paper and traditional lanterns. The scene at the pool area depicted a bit of the typical Chinatown street. Several stalls at one corner serving hand-made mochi, dragon beard candy along with some of mid-autumn must-haves like steamed mini yam, water caltrop and pomelo. A special stall attracted many visitors though… yes, the stall manned by Chef Ng Meng Loong who showcased new flavours for the coming mooncake festival Y2013. Chef Ng and his team prepared seven variations of snowskin ‘ping pei’.
From the poolside, guests were escorted to Spices Restaurant. Concorde’s General Manager, Mr Gary Lee invited some guests to light up lanterns before proceeding to the lavish buffet dinner. Resident pianist, Kevin Ong accompanied female vocalist, Teresa delivered a medley of old and new songs appropirate for the mid-autumn celebration.
The lantern festival is normally elebrated in the eight month of the Chinese lunar calendar. The event seeks to foster ties between our guests who frequent hotel outlets, Xin Cuisine and Crossroads Lounge from various backgrounds and races, as well to introduce the Chinese culture and customs. It was a memorable night for all who definitely enjoyed the food and non-stop entertainment.
