(Kuala Lumpur, 9 October 2017) – Vietjet Air was honoured with the title of “The Pioneer Airline” at the annual festival of national tourism 2017 – The Guide Awards 2017, thanks to the airline’s contributions to the development of the Vietnamese tourism industry.
Bearing the theme “Green tourism for a green economy”, The Guide Awards 2017 took place in Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang Province), also known as the pearl island, in which tourism issues were addressed comprehensively to ensure green values and ascertain sustainable development.
As a new age airline, Vietjet places a heavy emphasis on being environmentally conscious and has developed various programs to protect and improve the environment. The airline has cooperated with reputable aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing to operate a modern, fuel saving fleet with reduced noise and carbon emissions.
Vietjet has also been a pioneer in using the latest generation of aircrafts, applying the latest e-commerce technologies, opening new flight routes to remote destinations, painting Vietnam’s official tourism logo and slogan on the airline’s aircraft body and broadcasting the song ‘Hello Vietnam’ by Pham Quynh Anh on all its flights.
The Guide Awards is a prestigious award initiated by The Vietnam Economic Times Group’s The Guide magazine as an annual event since 1999. The award aims to honor organizations and enterprises that operate effectively and have contributed to the development of Vietnam’s tourism industry. The results of the award are based on the readers’ votes and evaluations, performance survey by the award’s organizers, as well as information from trustworthy sources and the media.
